Place the case on a flat surface and view the GPU from the front, side, and rear. Compare the card edge with the motherboard, case expansion slots, and a small level if available. A case itself can be twisted, so one photo angle is unreliable. Check whether the rear bracket sits flush and both screws are installed. Severe droop, a cooler pulling away from the PCB, or a bracket forced sideways indicates more than ordinary cosmetic sag.

Inspect the PCIe slot and retention latch

Power down, unplug, and discharge the system before touching the card. With the seller's permission, illuminate the primary slot. Look for a broken retention latch, cracked plastic, separation from the motherboard, lifted reinforcement, or discolouration near contacts. Gently test for unusual movement without levering the card.
